I've heard of several attempts over the years, I have yet to hear of a success. Something to consider though, in Malayasia, etc., where rattan is native, it is considered an aggressive, invasive plant. Do we really want another invasive non-native plant species here?

The only I'm not picking Duke Stephen in the semis is he's getting over a nagging intestinal bug that's kept him from doing much of anything for almost a week.

Yep, prices will be going up. I'll be posting when I actually change them. The other part of it, besides the heavy harvesting, is that the government of Malaysia wants to export finished products not raw rattan, so their duty structures and export limits are reflecting that.
