I was not online this weekend much due to some work needs. Including a power outage here at work yesterday that created some hardware crashes.
I believe I have a few 1 3/4" sticks left, both your cuts could come out of one so that'd be $15. The 30" sticks of 1.5 would be $5 each, then shipping.

I've only occasionally gotten as thick as 3" rattan. 2.5" is as thick as I normally can count on. And right now, what Thug & Boom stick stock I have left is headed to Thomas MacFinn for making rattan wasters. I plan on getting more mid-May in time for Aethelmarc War Practice.

Some kingdom rules mandate that if you add anything to the rattan of a polearm, then it must be padded, at which point you might as well form the cutting side from foam as well.

One reason I think synthetics will only be a small percentage of SCA weapons is their uniformity. Too many fighters like being able to get just the combination of weight, balance and flex they prefer. Given the option, they will test dozens of sticks to find that combination. Just a note of caution: if you're going to soak or steam shaved rattan, dry it quickly or in a non-damp/moldy place. It can go moldy very quick. I've had throw away & discount stock that wet & started growing green.
