thats silly though. It's not my favourite compromise either. Let's work with it and see what we can make of it. At least it is clear that A, B and C are possible, even if D is still foggy. Previously A through Z was in the grey zone. (Though I see no problem at all with pushing back once contact ha...

I wouldn't describe myself as a prospect, as I am a member of the Swan and Cross here in Drachenwald. Perhaps it might be beneficial to both groups, in the spirit o...

so, as long as you don't -hit- someone with your shield/haft, shield/body contact is now allowed? this was always a no-no or grey area in AE. Koredono, any comments/observations? Precisely, this was a grey area. A lot of the work that went into this revision was targetted at such points. So yes, yo...

Asmodei,

I think you are confusing "hit" (strike, touch hard) with "hurt" (injure, wound, cause pain).

I think most combat sport people want to hit, but do not want to hurt.

Yes, I think it is great that so many finger gauntlets are turning up on the field, but until I can afford them it is nice to know I am being atypical rather than impossible when I wear mittens.

What about George's skirt? How would you go about recreating that? And does my bum look big in this?

IV. THE USE OF WEAPONS AND SHIELDS A. Weapons shall be used in accordance with their design. For example, spears may only be used for thrusting, axes for striking along the edge of the blade, etc.). The 1390-1400 mitten gauntlets though, I thought those would have got more press. I considered it a pretty significant find as it seems they're poo-pooed by the 14th Century Mafia. if one gets rid of everyone who does not fall into the definition of "looking like a knight" the SCA will be down to about 10% Guys, the rule asks people to pay attention to appearance and try to maintain a medieval atmosphere. Bertus! Excellent point, but I have to disagree. If you look at the white/red boundary against the grey background, the front edge of the white part stands out a good couple of centimentres more than the red. Cameras with macro focus work wonders. These are macro-focussed. It was more a motion problem. It is pretty gloomy in the exhibit, and they obviously allow no flash.
