You are way too tough on yourself, Aaron. I think some stuck-up haughty woman turned her nose up at you at some point and you held on to the hurt too long. Give yourself a break, and remember that self-confidence is one of the most attractive things a woman can see in a man! BTW: What is going on wi...

If a bronze cook pot is $300, how can an aquamanile be...less? It's a much more complicated mold and pour. And there's a little door at the top that must be assembled (where you pour the water into the thing. Look closely you can see it in some of the photos. It would be less material so less bronze...

As long as that "brass hardware" does not include the crossguard, yeah. Crossguards should be steel -- brass crossguards will either bend if hit or get badly notched if not completely shorn away, so nothing screams wallhanger, not serious sword like brass in the wrong place. Brass or bronze pommels...

Geoffroi, You are most welcome here! I find the historical year you have chosen very appealing. I belong to a group that does a French tournament company from 1391---but I wish we were earlier. I'd prefer 1340-1350. Your kit looks great and your presentation is inspiring. I look forward to seeing yo...

Nice. The first one on sale seems to be a mini, but the second is full size and really fun. I am puzzled by the Italian though. I wonder what it would go for?

I'd love to hear Adam Berry chime in on this. I think my fave lion would be ideal for cold-cast bronze (polyester resin impregnated with bronze powder). It is very round with little to no undercuts making the molding process easier. I can imagine a metal armature inside to give the legs and handle s...

If we could settle on a style and I'd be willing to carve it--if anybody is interested in me doing so. I'd probably make the model in a composite of many materials (i.e. wood, bondo, metal armature, etc.). I like all of these: LIONS: My fave m m m m m m m OTHER BEASTIES My other fave m m --- As far ...

Wonderful gesture, Gwen. You rock! And a worthy cause. I would love a CDB made with a fabric I have kicking around here, and I would love to bid. However, a minor financial hardship just hit us out of left field. Nothing we can't handle. A trifle, really. But it's gonna soak up some "fun" money. <si...

Great tips, Chris. Thanks a bunch! Such a hoop would be hidden by the inner valance in my tent. So the visual appearance would not be so importent. Rectangular buckles like that go back at least as far as Ancient Greek times---I have seen one or two like that depicted on sword belts/baldrics (on painted pottery). From what I have seen and read it is perhaps not a popular shape in the 14th cent, but not completely unreasonable. I like what you d...
