You are way too tough on yourself, Aaron. I think some stuck-up haughty woman turned her nose up at you at some point and you held on to the hurt too long. Give yourself a break, and remember that self-confidence is one of the most attractive things a woman can see in a man! BTW: What is going on wi...

If a bronze cook pot is $300, how can an aquamanile be...less? It's a much more complicated mold and pour. And there's a little door at the top that must be assembled (where you pour the water into the thing. Look closely you can see it in some of the photos. It would be less material so less bronze...

As long as that "brass hardware" does not include the crossguard, yeah. Crossguards should be steel -- brass crossguards will either bend if hit or get badly notched if not completely shorn away, so nothing screams wallhanger, not serious sword like brass in the wrong place. Brass or bronze pommels...

Geoffroi, You are most welcome here! I find the historical year you have chosen very appealing. I belong to a group that does a French tournament company from 1391---but I wish we were earlier. I'd prefer 1340-1350. Your kit looks great and your presentation is inspiring. I look forward to seeing yo...

For mine I just used a 1/2" manilla rope and tied a knot like 18 inches from the end. Above that I seperated the rope into its three composite strands and used those three strands to form the crow's foot.

Nice. The first one on sale seems to be a mini, but the second is full size and really fun. I am puzzled by the Italian though. I wonder what it would go for?

Here's a pretty informative COMPLETED auction from e-bay for what turned out to be a repro.

I'd love to hear Adam Berry chime in on this. I think my fave lion would be ideal for cold-cast bronze (polyester resin impregnated with bronze powder). It is very round with little to no undercuts making the molding process easier. I can imagine a metal armature inside to give the legs and handle s...

Ask Adam Berry/White Mountain Armoury if these could be done 2 or more pieces (and thus be hollow) in "cold cast" bronze. IIRC he knows a lot about that process. If so, I might be willing to sculpt a master---if Adam could cast it.

Rectangular buckles like that go back at least as far as Ancient Greek times---I have seen one or two like that depicted on sword belts/baldrics (on painted pottery).
