"Space wasters" you say? By what measure? Do you mean ground space? A whole bunch of people could sleep at the floor level of a 10' x 14' tent and be sheltered from foul weather. And was ground space in short supply a thousand years ago? Do you mean storage space? A 10' x 14' tent canvas, ropes and ...

There's a difference? :) :) :)

Honestly, to me a hand-made braid or trim is so head-and-shoulders better than 99% of commercially-made stuff I really don't get into the difference between the various weaving methods.

Note another historically-based option is that you can wear a sword belt ---AND--- a plaque belt. The sword belt goes around the real waist (and carries the sword) and the plaque belt goes about the hips (and carries the dagger).

Well, something like white 0.75" to 1" diam PVC would be fairly cheap to experiment with. I think it might be able to take a bend like that over 12 feet of span. And, I could always consider making a bending jig/template and seeing if I could heat it into permanent obedience with a heat gun. I estim...

Making a Yurt-like "Alachigh" N. Iranian Tent?

Yeah, I am "tent-crazy". I love historical tents and have owned 7-8 of them over the years. At present I only have one, a Midwest Tents 8.5' diameter high medieval round pavilion (approx 10-11' diam at the base). But I have been searching for a solution to tentage for Pennsic and my budding Scythian...

Thanks for the ideas and comments. Hoops for Round Tents

Okay, Pennsic is over and I am trouble shooting my equipment. What works as is? What should be sold off and a different one bought? What should be fixed or modified for better performance?
