Lordewulf,
The check should be sent. Let me know once you get it.
Cheers!

Krag, Oh how I hate Chicago. Been to TX twice, and I'm sure both me and my horse would love it! My wife hates the cold too, but she's never really been out of the state much- done more travelling in the past year with me than she had before in her whole life- Someday if I'm lucky. TX, KY or CO are m...

LordWulfe- I will check and see, I know someone in FL who had a 350/350 that he only wanted $150 bux for. I was looking for my vette but it was too far away. That said, I have several 350 cores (all in need of rebuild) but shipping would cost more than they are worth (should be able to get a 350 cor...

Ouch! Mine are actually 3 different vendors/armourers. I am still "next" on Gundo's armour queue... Have been "next" for a couple of years now. A couple others took my money and never been heard from again... Both via E(vil)-bay. There is one fellow who I gave money to who I am working with on actua...

Giles, Don't get my post wrong either- I too truly hope you get the items you ordered. I will send my $$$ once I hear about it. If I were in the position to take the $75 gamble I probably would have, but I am still out almost $2K in armour that I have never seen and in all honesty probably never wil...

Hmmm, I too have been watching this and wondering... Keeping my pennies in order to be able to send the cash just in case this actually turns out to be true. Still doubtfull, and that does seem more questionable after reading it again. We'll see if those that have paid actually get any armour, and i...

Well then, it is certainly less than 6 months old. How could it be otherwise?

I couldn't offer you a third of the price no matter how much I want it. Sorry, man. Think it's only worth $500? Or is that all you have? I am not in crazy need of cash, am in crazy need of getting this truck out of the parking lot. Will consider trades for shiny armour bits... Kinda crazy to me- in...

Here are some pics: I will take $1500 OBO- if not gone soon I will be dropping it off at a local used car dealership. My landlord is really not happy that I am taking 3 spots (only allowed two- my new truck parks in the visitor spot!). I really just need to get rid of this truck. [img]http://www.fit...

Well if you want a cheap beginner anvil- go to a local Harbor Freight. They have a small one for $10. Perfect for setting rivets and such- and about the price of a railroad rail anvil... Portable too. Not sure that is a good thing as I left mine someplace and it was gone when I went back... Cheers! ...

How much to ship to zip code 60457? How big of a spool are we talking? 16 ga should be about 92 ft per lb. How many pounds is your spool? Dang, Whoodathunk that it would be so expensive!!! I talked to Central Steel- they don't carry stainless wire at all. Tri-star carries it but minimum quantity is 200lb spools (200 lbs at a time are the units of measure). They told me to call Fastenal, they carry Tri-star's supplies and will break it...

Thanks!
I just went and registered on www.chainmailleboard.com. Seems like a cool enough site! LOL. Still waiting for my conformation email so I can post the question.
Going to Milwaukee is not out of the question, but I would prefer a shorter trip!
Thanks again!

Because Gruber has already done that for me- he has a bunch of cool tools that he forged. I need more experience hammering steel to figure out what sort of cool unavailable tools I need. WTB: Stainless steel wire (for maille) Chicago
OK, I am wondering if anyone has ordered wire from anywhere in or near Chicago. Looking for Stainless steel 16ga.- this is for costume armour not for combat (costume for my horse actually). Would like to pick up as I'm afraid the 40+ lbs. of wire I need will cost a ton for shipping. Anyone done such...

If it were me (and it's not so take this for what it's worth): I would go with one of two compromises that seem safe to my little pea brain- One would be to build a padded suspension system. Nice natural fabric (linen with real cotton batting) liner, rather than a garment weight leather. Should be m...

Hot working with a forge this weekend! So very swank.
Got my first taste of forge work this weekend! So very swanky. I want one! LOL, nah, I'll just keep using Gruber's! First time swinging a hammer in over a year, took a while to get the hang of it again, but actually did more good than harm! Did some pattern work, polished a helm then jumped right in...

I have one- here is a pic or two: $100 will take it. http://home.armourarchive.org/members/kaylyons/pics/armor/norman_front.jpg http://home.armourarchive.org/members/kaylyons/pics/armor/normanside.jpg It has never been used (other than a couple rides in full maille for a halloween party at the barn)...
