Well, as I have had some unexpected equestrian bills this month (carried over into next month) I suppose going over my limit of "cheap" will not be much of an option. I don't have any place to use either yet, but I doubt PQ would have a problem with me loaning the shop a welder! As for the drill pre...

I like carpet armour. Circa 1993, orange shag is the best.
Seriously, I like the 16th century stuff. More so the peascod breastplate and the Greenwich armours. It just looks so cool, with all the etching and black oxide with the gilded edges. Sweet.

I wonder if the lack of morions has anything to do with the abundance and cost of the fairly nice Indian ones floating about. I got two of them for $60 (total, including shipping). I like the look of a morion with my doublet and gorget. Fancy shmancy 16th century Ren-Faire type outfit. I've only see...

You really do need to be more specific, as there are two extremes and everything in the middle- Extreme #1: Take out a second mortgage, pay Mac $45,000 or more for a one of a kind custom made museum quality harness with exchange pieces. Extreme #2: Hang out on the classifieds, watch E-Bay like a haw...

Chris,
I tried the pattern on her yesterday, needs a little adjustement (eye openings a little narrow, nose just a touch long). Should be pretty cool, I have some heavy leather to make it out of. I will be water hardening it and sealing with bees wax.

Best place (cheapest!) for Osprey books?

Title pretty much sums it up. There are about 1/2 dozen I want to get, so I would like to find the cheapest place. Did a little internet searching and prices pretty much are the same. Amazon is actually higher than a lot of places. Anyone know the "best" place to get them?
