If you are doing jingasa, sign me up for one, minus the bar grill. In black.

I've been looking for a decent metal jingasa to put into my collection.

I've already made the "liner" to sit in the middle of the jingasa...

I've never seen a Japanese coat of plates. I've seen a full suit of armour made from kikko before (kikko a little round or hex pieces of metal pierced usually similar to a button with 4 holes and arranged into hexagon patterns inside a cloth/fabric sandwich). kikko are usually sewn into stuff like s...

Dalewyn, I also have an okegawa dou from around 1550 (it's an ashigaru piece but in very good condition and a little more higher end than most ashigaru stuff, as it's all metal and has some fancy fittings on it), if you would like to borrow it for measurments and templates I would be happy to sent i...

What do people think about Stainless Steel for armour?

In the next couple of months I'm going to have my arm and leg harness redone. I've been wondering what people think about stainless steel. All my stuff (other than my gaunts) are currently mild steel, and of course, there is a huge overhead for making sure the armour is maintained. It's really no bi...

Chef, way off, the corrazina is covered stainless steel. I shouldn't be posting prices I paid from these but here it goes to show it can be done cheap: Arms: @ 200 bucks, I did get some special details done, like tulip vambracers, extra arm wrap for the upper arm canon and historical buckles... Legs...

Eff, I thought about going that route, but I'm not sure what is going to happen if I do that refit. If I am not mistaken the ryo-awase has four "hinge" points... Klaus,

I'll email you when I get home. I'm still in need of a jupon to wear over my armour and something to wear around when not fighting as well...

I will second what Thaddeus says about Klaus's stuff. I have a set of linen chausses, brayes and shirt from him and they are TOP notch.

Thanks Cheval, I get nothing on Anshelm Arm's page for arming coats/pourpoints.

I have already looked at the ones offered by http://www.revivalclothing.com/ and found that because they only come in 4 sizes, they don't fit well... Serious bummer, as those are designed well from what I have seen.
