Message to ARMOURER ERIC

Eric,

As of last night AT&T (Now ComCast) has deleted my email accounts due to a screwup on their part.

Please feel free to email me at evil_merlin@criticalcaresystems.com so that we can finalize our business. I do not know how long it will be till my original email accounts are active again.

I'm going to pass on them Tim. I did not see that they were indian made. I've had too many issues with getting stuff from india and having straps rot in a few months, rivets pop too easy and other issues with the cheap steel they use.

Dougal, That is exactly what I did. Nothing against the Indian riveted stuff. It serves for a means of getting something better than the butted stuff most of us started with. However after having both the indian stuff and now some of Steve's armour, the difference is like night and day. Not to menti...

condotteri, I highly recommend you check your attitude. You are talking to a bunch of people who either make or wear armour and hit each other with either very hard wooden items or rebated steel. Nuts is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I think someone is nuts when they judge what other people...

Chain armour is far from light, and would be, in my opinion, very hindering to an archer, especially if the chain hauberk or haubergeon had sleeves. From what I understand, archers wore very little armour, maybe a gambeson, or jerkin, but that's about it. Oh yeah, and a simple helm, like a kettle he...

I find that because I am wearing just chausses under the armour, my sweat wicks out thru them and condenses on the inside of the armour. Not too good when all I have is mild steel stuff...

Waddya know... I'm actually doing it the right way. Let it be said that putting together a kit that is not only accurate (well close to it anyways, I still have some Chicago screws on my legs to attach to my arming belt, but those will go away shortly.), and can handle the rigors of SCA combat, is N...

I'm an accuracy nut. I'm trying to get as authentic as possible. The only place stainless is used on my kit is on my corrazina and that is totally covered with black canvas so you could not tell even if you wanted to. About the only concession I made was my greaves. Because I am doing SCA combat, I ...

Leg, arm and spaulder pointing...

Any recommendation on what thickness of leather to use for pointing of arms, legs and spaulders? I have some leather, some of it is very thick, some very thin and none in between.

Does anyone have any good images of armour pointing they have done?

Mykaru, Yeah I know, those legs are sweet, but I'm really trying to avoid stainless. I like the greyish patenization that happens to mild if it's taken care of well. Right now the only thing stainless (visible anyways) is my gauntlets, and those will have to be removed from my cold dead hands for me...
