Hammerbreaker: 14th Century Spaulder Review

Saw these on one of Hammerbreaker's For Sale Posts, and couldn't pass them up. Glad I didn't. VERY well made, strapping is very thick, and the spauders themselves well made and well formed. Such a great job on these. I tried to avoid the brass edging on most of my armour, but now that I have it on t...

This region had a fairly unique kettle hat design. If you wanted something that really evoked the time and region this "Scandinavian" design would be an excellent choice. <img src="http://www.whitemountainarmoury.com/images/random/hjalmrefpr2.jpg"> Hrm... now to convince you to do a SCA l...

James River Armoury Legs for sale

New. Never been used. I've tried them on. They just are not for me. They are a bit to simple as these are the basic basics with the simple upper cuisse. Great for a first time fighter or something to just strap into for practice. Mild steel with a good polish, and straps and buckles. I'm asking for ...

Both are earlier than the Battle of Wisby, but might accurately reflect a town militia with slightly outdated gear.

1308 is a long way away from 1360's unfortunately.

My current flat ring riveted hauberk is galvanized, and I was just going to post how to get the yucky zink off... now I see that its probably just best to leave it on!

Helms used at the Battle of Visby (Wisby)

I've seen (and I own the book) about Wisby. We know the defenders wore a lot of chain with Coats of Plates of all types as well as the occasional gauntlet (much like Whonew makes). I have seen a lot of coifs, but nothing on the helmets and limb armour that would have been use in the time around that...

How is this helm worn? Is it over another helm? How is it strapped?

I know how it attaches to the breast plate, but was wondering about the suspension inside the helm itself.
