The shape of the leather.

How the leather fits properly, thickness, and shape.

How the chain armour is properly attached to the leather.

G- What thickness leather are you looking for? How quick so you need it? I have a very little bit of time off between Christmas and New Year's, I might be able to do something. Thats a good question, and its one of the reasons I was trying to outsouce this. I don't know much about attaching the ave...

That is an awesome helmet. But you should seriously reconsider outsourcing the leather work. Knowing how to make simple repairs to your armour is essential for a fighter. There is a Tandy leather store in Chelmsford. Surely there are people that work leather in your area that can help? Simple armou...

Re: Hi

Hi there G, Dayum that is one nice looking helm. I could probably make the leather for it but Id suggest getting it somewhere else, anything I could make would only detract from that fine helm. Happy Hollidays Pitbull Thanks Pitbull. Maxim does excellent work. PS: I'll be ordering a C-Belt from you...

I don't have access to leather and I don't trust my own skills.

I'm a fighter, not a crafter. Any time I've tried, I've ended up either hurting myself, or worse, someone else.

I'll hit people with sticks, as that seems to be the limit of my artisitic abilities...

Leather "skirting" for a bascinet

I have my nice new bascinet from Wild Armoury (thanks Maxim)... I'm finishing it up now with a nice aventail... but I need someone that can make me the leather skirt that attaches to the helm via the verivilles. Is there anyone out there that can assist? http://wildarmoury.com/images/Resize%20of%20R...

Excellent! I'll be placing an order on Tuesday (the 15th). I'm sick of using a crapy web belt to hold up my legs.

I have no more fighter practices till after the holidays so all is good...

Thanks Pitbull for your continual improvement on these c-belts!

Hmm, this looks real tempting. So pretty and such a low price! Maxim/Anyone: How well does the included padded liner work for SCA? Is it equivalent to 1/2" of foam? Will I have to fight for my right to party? Regards, Columb Columb, the liner Maxim made for my older style (1350's) bascinet wor...

The Archive, I would think, needs to avoid stickies that can possibly be interpreted as "bad mouthing".

As stinky "armourers" who like to rip off people, usually have little problem suing for "defamation of character"

Vitus, yeah it would probably be a bit too big for you. I mean you could stuff the area between the liner and the helm, but then it wouldn't register hits on the noggin very well.

Early bascinet with bretache (nose guard)

I have a Wildarmoury early bascinet with bretache (nose guard) with attached grill (removable), pipe vervelles, and a long, nicely shaped linen/cotton aventail. The helm is a very good representation of an early bascient made to be worn WITHOUT the great helm over it. I would say its representitive ...
