That early in the 14th century, I think you are shooting for the older, larger more bulbous style bacinets with open faces or open faces with nose guards. Kinda like this: http://wildarmoury.com/images/bar_gr_bac.jpg The full klappvisor bascinets really didn't leave germany until after the 1360's. B...

First, what/who is your persona? What era and what geographical location? Anyways, I had awesome luck with Maxim at Wild Armoury (m). Rather quick turn around (about 4 weeks from the time I ordered to the time it showed up on my porch) and great lines. He did me a hounskull, and its fantastic. But h...

Some help with Haubergeon/Hauberk length and sleeves

So now that all my kit is done and here in the states with me, I'm running thru the final loops of getting it ready to wear. Some questions about a hauberk/haubergeon from the late 14th century. My persona is a lower income landholding knight from Bugundy circa 1380. My kit is made up of a hunskull ...

As a former owner of Mykaru's stuff, you cannot go wrong with his kabuto (or any other of his armour). It will look GREAT (as in very accurate historically), and be quite functional. You cannot go wrong with his armour. Really. He is one of the ones that you get ARMOUR, not something that looks like...

Wildarmoury Review #2

Got home from the Air Base today to find two decent size packages in the foyer. From the Ukraine. Inside was one hunskull bacinet, a set of sabaton, cased greaves, Churburg late 14th century style legs and a nice segmented breastplate. All done via my specifications. All shipped quickly (about 40 da...

I have a full hauberk from them. Its heavy, but nicely made. Has held up very well in fighting. I have to trim the full length sleeves down a bit, but the length is rather decent, almost to my knees.

Customer service is AWESOME.

Your kit is nearly identical to my current kit.

I too wear a breast plate with no backplate (for now).

I've choosen to keep wearing my hauberk with half sleeves with my new breastplate (a churburg style, segmented breastplate vs. the type 14 I wear now).
