Yep, use the Roman stuff (hamata). A couple of folks make it in half punched. m carries it in 8mm and 6mm ring size. I can't find any info on their reputation. Has anyone ordered from them? For an extra 100 I would rather order from Ice, then I know the quality of product and service I am getting. ...

It should be pretty close to a hauberk for the kit your using. Soak it in vinegar overnight if its galv, that'll strip it right off however galvy maille tends to be weak as butter so dont be surprised if it doesnt hold up well to combat. Thanks ES, I didn't know that. I'll just trim the sleeves. Ho...

Oh damn I totally forgot to post that I do have a haubergeon. Its flat wire, riveted. Decent, but not perfect, as its galvanized as best as I can tell. I do have to do some trimming on the arms and overall length as its is closer to a hauberk than haubergeon right now. The fans on both the arms and ...

Luthod, Yes, Joe Walters is (was) an amazing bladesmith (he isn't making blades any more to the best of my knowledge). His ability to heat treat and polish is stunning. I need more armour. Another set of 14th century finger gauntlets, and perhaps a nice helm... For trade I have two HAND MADE japanese blades. Both are made by Joe Walters formerly of Moonlit Forge. Both are of 1050 steel, custom shaped for me, and heat treated in the Japanese style. Full hamon and fu...
