Whonew Wisby Gauntlet review

Today I got my Whonew Wisby style gauntlets in. He said they were XXL, and I guess I have XL hands, because they almost fit me perfectly. The metal work is very good, the amount of coverage floating plates provide is rather stunning. The articulation is about as good as it can get. I have no area wh...

Yep, identical to the Large one I have, only mine is blue.

For the price, they are worth every penny. Its a good piece to stick in my armour bag and just strap my plate to it when I don't feel like pulling on my chain armour as well.

The hand written thankyou note was good too.

My god, that torso armour is some of the best looking I've seen anyone make... its shape is incredible, and the level of detail is above and beyond what I've seen most people attempt.

its a work of art, and I really hope no one puts any dents into it!

More goodies from Maxim at Wild Armoury.

I asked Maxim to duplicate a set of legs as seen in the Castle of Churburg. I think he hit the nail on the head! http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs272.snc1/9917_1167490760904_1636988834_413838_1002486_n.jpg http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs272.snc1/9917_1167490800905_16369...

Looks like your greaves actually sit over your sabatons properly. Very nice. I look forward to seeing your full rig, it's going to look sharp. Luckily I more or less show Maxim exactly what I want, and that ends up being exactly what I get. He is currently finishing up a set of Churburg legs (1385 ...

Wild Armoury: Partial Review/Update on my stuff

Some good details of my sabatons and greaves coming from Maxim at Wild Armoury. He is also doing me a new set of Churburg style legs and Churburg segmented breastplate. I have nothing but very good things to say about Maxim. My current helm (early bascient with nasal) and arm harness is by Maxim and...

I have one of these, in Large, in blue fabric. Very similar to the one in red. Its THICK, a little too thick honestly, and L is HUGE on me (5'10" 170ish). A couple washes in hot water mostly fixed the hugeness, but its still a bit thick. Its good to go with some transitional armour stuff, but i...

I have lots of Maxim's stuff. An early bacinet, arms, shoulders, gauntlets, legs and soon new legs, cased greaves and a set of sabatons. Once I get those, I'm getting another, more modern bacient and a Churburg segemented breastplate from him. All the stuff I have so far is EXCELLENT. I fought in hi...

I wore a set of Sasuke's finger gauntlets for almost 2 years. The first set I had, when I had issues with them, I helped him redo them for SCA fighting. The set that he did (actually he just redid the fingers, the rest of the gauntlet was perfect), was incredible. I wore them with and without finger...

Historic Enterprises Linen Chausses, A Review

I wish I could say more positive things about these chausses. But as they are close to perfect as they could be, its a bit hard to! Thats a serious complement folks.
