Thanks Kalus, its good to be back. Since my "persona" is Burgundy, the Germanic influences would have very much existed... And yes, I'm most assuredly portraying a less well to do... Mayhap a bit earlier than 1380... maybe more 1360-ish. Once I get all my kit, if I find I really like the h...

Is there any particular art or monument you are using as a reference? No, I'm using a conglomeration of art and monuments dated 1360-1380 as a basis, but the last thing I want to do is "copy" any said monument. After all the folks that have monunments and such were typically filthy rich a...

My old kit, including the rivetted chain haubergeon and a corrizina made of stainless steel, and the Kettle helm with open slats weighed exactly 52 pounds. Mind you I actually wore a full harness, including pointed gambeson, full haubergeon (just above the knees, just past the elbows), with at decen...

Yeah I have most of that stuff from my old kit.

About all that I currently need is a good pair of shoes/boots.

Under the mail.

Working that one out now.

I have a VERY nice one from Klaus, but its silk, and more of a dress type than something I want to wear under armour.

When Rhiannon returns from Pennsic, she will be working on a linen/cotton one for me.

This is my old kit. Sasuke did it for me (I bought the Corizzina from someone else, Sasuke helped me fit the rest of the kit for me), the helm is one of WMA's first (if not THE first) kettle helms. Thats Steve (Fourth Armoury's) rivited chain shirt. [img]http://home.comcast.net/~evil_merlin/armour/o...

I've seen dozens of different type of designs of hitaiganemaki. Most are simply a few plates, held together with chain armour, ...

Wanted: Dire need for a decent gambeson/aketon

Folks, Need some help, I'm looking for a decent gambeson/aketon to wear with my late 14th century kit. I have a wonderful Porupoint of Charles de Blois in silk and linen, but really don't want to risk this one as it was too nice to wear under my armour. I would like something a bit more form fitting...
