Coat of Plates question

What did the rounded coat of plates possibly in usage in the 1380-1390's? Specifically in the Burgundy region look like? Were they more corizzina types? I'm using information from Talbot's German Effigies database (what a great resource), and it says that almost all the armour in effigies from that ...

Reading the thread it looks like they are full mail chausses, just worn under the padded upper chausses.

That being said, you could always pick up the full chausses from say IceFalcon, cut them down and use the upper legs for a maille skirt or something along those lines...

Steven, It's welded. Guillaume, I think you better back up and tell Steven how the bretache really attaches to the helmet. You seem to have been thinking of the bargrill to the bretache when you responded. Good point Konstantin. The bretache connects to the helm in much the same way some klappvisor...

Butted chain and live steel don't mix very well in general I have found. For shinai fighting, wear a thick weight belt to protect your soft squishies including the gut and kidneys under your armour or gambeson. Use wingless cops and simple spaulders under the armour for elbow and shoulder protection.

An elegant solution to the bargrill problem.

I can't tell from the picture, though, what kind of attachment does the nasal have to the helmet.

Cheers,
Steven

I had a set of Eric's arms and legs back when I first got re-started with the SCA following a long hiatus. They lasted me a good two years before my kit from Sasuke was done. Linen Garb Review

Placed an order on Friday, had my tunics today. One white, one in Roman Red. Both are wonderful. The linen fabric used is very good, soft but durable. Large is large, I could only imagine how big XL is! Simply put, A+ customer service, fast delivery and good prices. The items are so good even my Wif...

Thats the good thing about the Burgundy region. French, Swiss and Germanic influences... Yes, the bretache is removeable with the grill. The rest of my kit will be based on some of the stuff in Churburg. The legs and arms , as well as the breastplate which is a mix of Churburg and the Chapel Pistola...

To the best of my knowledge, tea was unknown to the Romans.

beverage of choice were calda, mulsum, posca and of course wine (watered down of course)...

No beer (considered to be a barbarian beverage) and no milks (uncouth).
