Re: 16th century Poland, in the desert
@Dan Agreed and I have had many conversations (a lot specifically with the rapier community) about wearing your undergarments, especially in court. My questions are more too camp life and otherwise. I want to find a way to look specifically Polish, in even the relaxed times. You can easily dress dow...

I am well aware of different weights, but I can swear I have seen images with men only wearing undershirts in late spanish period.

16th century Poland, in the desert
I am moving back to doing a Polish Hussar (1590-1610) persona (I have a little persona ADHD). My major problem has always been that I live in Arizona. Plenty of awesome jackets and armor and the like, but nothing for hot weather. They must have had undershirts. I can find awesome embroidered ones mu...

I was using one and I had a few not take some solid body shots, but that is pretty typical. No complaints.

Re: Opinions wanted on my proposed arms
I have a single charge on my heraldry, so does the barony I live in, and so does my lady. It totally make life easy. Maybe drop down to a single charge, instead of the double headed eagle try a mythical beast. Also I have a lot of heraldry involving ermine (2 badges, my device and my ladies) maybe t...

Re: Polypro is now SCA legal
@Godric from what I understand (and to reiterate what Logan said) unless your kingdom publishes rules to outlaw them, then they are legal. Atenveldt only disallows siloflex in our current ruleset, so technically they are currently legal here. I don't really see them gaining any popularity out here, ...

The desires of the Crowns are stepping on the neck of one of the best and most reknowned gatherings of martial deeds. If they insist on this selfish course. wax vise? for engraving, repousse?
I have seen a wax vise(can't think of a better word) used for engraving, chasing and repousse. It is used to keep the object stable while working with it. What is it called? Either the process of using the wax to stabilize or the wax vise.

i think you are thinking too much about thinking too much
when it happens take note and try to repeat it
if you focus too much on it, then it may have the opposite effect

Oldest tourneys in the SCA
What are the oldest still running tourneys in the SCA? I want to get together a ten oldest list. My barony (Barony of Tir Ysgithr) might have 2 of them. The Great Helm tourney started in Nov 1975, and Gawd Awful Grail might have started in 73(still researching for confirmation, supposedly started be...
