I watched my dad burnish the edges of leather with egg white and a rib bone. The bone was slick and dry. He would rub a little egg white on the edge then briskly rub the bone back and forth on the leather edge. This made a dark brown polished hard edge. That's a wonderful idea, especially having to...

Kerry, I can't find the threading attachment in the book. A picture would be nice if it is not too much trouble.

Another question. It uses a leather belt. Is it what we use now? the belt looks like it needs replacing.

Thanks for your help.

Patric, my real name is Patrice. My parents are from Britanny, France so I looked for something along those line for my nickname here. Padrig was used in this region around the 12th cent. from what I found.

I think that your name, ending with a c is really cool. :)

You might want to look at this also. More expensive but still a little less than Mistress Beverly. m I works great, cuts with a little less warpage than the throatless shear, is more mobile ie you can cut a 4X8 sheet by yourself. I like it as much as my Beverly. Pad PS If you get the HF Shear, look ...

Carmel, I am sorry, I forgot to say that this was about 2-3 years ago so I would not necceserally say he is trying to stiff you. Maybe just the prices going up because of the demand. But in any case I agree that it is still too expensive.

Anybody has a metal turning lathe here?

My brother has come across a metal turning lathe. He has no idea how to use it and me neither. My questions are:

1) How hard is it to learn to use? Meaning, is it an art or pretty easy?
2) Can I use it to turn wheels for a belt grinder?
3) How useful is this? What can I use it for?

WOOHOO!!! I got my Mig welder!!! Now Questions?

Well I finally bought a Mig welder, Millermatic 135. Nice little 115V welder. I am ready to go but still a couple of questions remain. 1) What shade of lenses do you suggest on my helmet? I believe it says 10 somewhere but I wanted to be sure. I kind of like my eyes. 2) Is the work piece that you cl...
