For me, the limit is 16 ga SS and 14 Ga Mild. Bigger than that is possible but not too often or the risk of breakage goes up.

Aaron, I think a side to side measurement would be more helpfull for people to have a sense of size.

Thomas Powers wrote:On my monitor that sure looks like "24" radius" making for a most imoressive mushroom!

Is that 2 point 4 inches?

Thomas

I was thinking the same. At 4 lbs it seems that it would have to be awfully thin to be 24" Dia.

Thanks for the tips ya'll. For the clamps and as a matter of fact for all tools now, I wait untill I have the money to buy the good stuff. No more knock-off for me. In the long run, it is just not worth it. Like they say: "I am not rich enough to buy the cheap stuff." I already have 2 crescent clamp...

Thanks Sean. Angle grinder I have so it would be between band saw and chop saw. Tha chop saw just seem the more econimical of the two.

And Hal, please stop. I will never get through the dam list of tools I need. ;)

Sadly (for you) the Canadian dollar has been slowly creeping up. So 800$ CAN is more like 650$ US.

Cut-Off saw/Chop saw question?

Halberd suggested getting one for the shop. So now I just HAVE to have one. ;)

Would any "woodworking" model with a metal cutting disk do or is there something special I am looking for?

Nothing NEEDS to be mirror finish. The faces that come in contact with the visible part of the work need to be in good shape but even if not perfectly polished, it will just mean a little more finishing later.

Erik is right and in all mediums. Paint, potery, etc... I've stopped listenning to other people tell me what art is and decided on my own. Sad that more people don't do it also. :(

Pages where the bottom menu is not working:

HOME
CLOTHING

It works in the other pages. That might give you a clue by comparing one that works to one that don't.

Sorry I could not be more help.
