You are a lucky man indeed. If people know that it is Jeff that is making it, they are surely asking when is it comming. How is not a question. We all know that. ;)

Crows Anvil, posted a wonderful short picture essay a few months back to make some by grinding. I have it on my laptop but don't know if it is hosted somewhere. Tell me and I'll email it to you if you want.

Yes but is it thick enough for straps, if that is what it is for? I use 6-8 oz myself for straps.

Chef, my assumption is not based on any research. It is only based on what I imagine the result would be. I imagine a solid hit in the chest at the force that I've seen people who joust with shields hit, with a steel tipped lance and I would never have thought that end result would be anything less ...

Looking for pics of Nasal for Norman helm

Just as stated, I am looking for pictures of nasal (original, not reproduction, the nasal that is, not the pictures;)). I will either copy or use in designing the one for my helm. I found a few but I was curious if you gents could not help me find more.

Thanks

I would think that the speed generated by the horse and whatever weight is generated by the resistance the rider can put on the lance are what creates the force. The horse is simply not in the equation except to generate speed. But of course the end result is still the same. It would go through mail...

I started to look at the pictures to figure out how many diamond shaped paterns there were and in between. I think I know how many there are...a lot! Of course now that I think back on it, hauberks with 40K to 50K rings in them were a lot also. Maybe I'm insane. Can't wait to see it finished. Pad

Yes, I imagine they would open up a little when you flatten them. I am curious as to how many are needed for the jacket? And it does sound as tedious as maille if not as hard on the hands. But the end product is well worth it.
