I love mini facets  , in reality, they need only a light sanding, and will give you a very even surface, remember, more "shiny" is your hammer more shiny and compact will be the surface you work on, so less sanding needed.

Medieval sword was usually sharp only in the last portion of blade (debole) and not like a razor. You can safely grab the other parts of the blades without fear.

I have one.. it can cut 1mm iron.. if you use a bit of oil can be quite fast, and is very silent. I think it's a nice tool for little works, and don't warp the plate like a shear, nice for trimming edges.

The angle at which blades meet depend on many factor, first of all the real style of combat your are practicing.
If you do edge to edge the only way to make blade last longer it to cut off a part of energy at the last moment, so blades strike not so hard.

We do it that way from 4 year, and other people do the same here: Before handling a steel sword we train the "apprentice fighter" with long and short staff, then we focus our training to "control the blows", only light touch or no touch at all is allowed, fighting is done at reach distance, so contr...

When you have to face supersonic bullets, is better to avoid any hit. Even if full armoured, even if the armour stop the bullet you can be killed or seriously injured. For this reason the armour must not limit movement and senses. A soldier that run slow is easier to hit, a soldier that don't see or...
