Most of the klappvisors I've seen need to have extra cheeks hidden under your aventail.

What if....

You put some kind of fastener, dead center on the INSIDE of the visor, had a single bar run from stealth cheek to stealth cheek, and fastened the visor to that bar?

A lot of it depends on how you prep them, and how you fight. I've seen brand new sticks not last a day. Course... 1 layer of duct tape (nothing else) on a scrawny little whippy fast stick, held by a hot agressive fighter. My lazy but with my 2*4 clubs wrapped in spiraled strapping tape, last forever...

If you have a whitney punch or similar you can nibble a 1/4 inch radius out of the corner, then feather it out with a file or sander. Use the sharp corner you have as a center point for the punch. Or, just feather it into a radius with a file/sander/whatever. You'll loose a little bit that way, but...

WD-40 sux for armour unless your wiping off duct tape smears. It's really not great for preventiing rust. I use cheapo turtle wax car wax to keep the rust down. I'll second that.
