Critique sought - Zunari Kabuto bowl prototype
Ok... so I've been chewing on this idea for a while. This is my first real attempt at a Kabuto. I did one a LOOOOOOONG time ago that was better described as a spangen helm with shikoro. I'd like to skip over comments like "needs planishing", "Paint sucks", "WTF? Pop rivets?&...

Maybe I'm missing your point, but it sounds like you're overanalyzing. Medium. That fits, doesn't it. Yeah that's what I'm thinkeratin too. If you're in doubt, go to the store, try on several pair. Take an average of the sample, and go with it. As far as buying gloves to fight in... I'll echo elk. ...

I'm not the expert. Textiles hate me. It sounds by your description of the peak of the shoulder that maybe you don't want a stiffer garment, but one that's tailored differently. Something that didn't have the slack at the shoulder to pull down. Do you have points at the elbow as well as the shoulder...

McMaster-Carr.com for rivets and even sheet metal. Dissagree. McMaster, last time I bought rivets, was getting steadily more expensive with the rivets, and started packaging them strangely. Where I used to buy just a pound of rivets, they switched to pre-packaged 50's and hundreds. RJ Leahy still d...

Please, tell me you made that beautiful faceted hammer tone finish with some mechanical wizardry, it makes my old man forearms ache just thinking about it. Uh... sure. If that helps you sleep at night, then I used a machine. A special hammer is a machine right? I don't think anyone has mentioned th...

Well... if you're gonna call me a tease,
How bout a lunch time lapdance?

Patina'd, cheek and skirt trim riveted on, eyeballin the looks of the nasal while I debate some chisel cuts on it.

Will that helm be for sale any time soon? And if so, what size is it? I hope to have it ready to sell either tomorrow or Thursday. At this time I'm thinking of listing it here on the classifieds, auction style. I haven't yet measured it for sizing. I lost a bit of head size when I cut my hair, and ...

I've never ordered from them online... But they are on the way to and from the kids' school, and have been my primary supplier of dead animal parts for years. Long ago, there were some issues, and service was either great or crap Depending on the day. Things have mellowed out at the store, and it's ...

I've seen people rave over clecos and I never got any of them because like you said, they look like they'd get in the way more than anything. I also tend to rough fit stuff, then fit it down as I go, so there's a lot of put 2 rivets/bolts in, hammer the crap out of it, put in a couple more, more ham...

I think I like the long name thiough, it sounds like it has a story...... Not really. Just the very warped logic that resides in my head. Nahmie is how Cliff (being from Boston. Chowdah!) pronounces Normie. Normie is Norm, I assume Norman, and a barfly on Cheers. Normans appear on the Bayeux Tapest...

It might be easier (read cheaper for you then) to have them cast. I know there are more than a few people that do brass/bronze castings. They might could even do it with integral pins on the back that you could just peen over, and avoid rivets all together. They'd be heavier that way. But you'd prob...

Like most folks I ran out of money before I ran out of month. Gonna kinda be a regular thing for me. To alleviate that some, I have this garage full of tools and scrap metal. Aluminum gauntlets. started off as 0.70" ish road sign. Decal/paint removed. Thumbs are steel started off as like... fat...

As an aside, how much does this weigh? Um... Dunno. I'll ask Skippy tomorrow. He's a bit senile so he might be off by a half pound or so. I'ma guess right now about 8 and a half. It'll be later in the day. With it being the end of the school year my work schedule is kinda up in the air. I like the ...
