WBF, not quite right. Ansteorra requires vambraces on both arms. Has for a very long time. If I recall correctly we were among the first kingdoms to require them. Other than that it is pretty much Society minimums.

Actually it is light gray. Love too if work wasn't interfering with normal life. I have the last two banks opening within the next couple of weeks and doubt I will have the energy to get out of bed. I will have to come and look at the boat as soon as I can though. Like you needed a new boat.

Yes Tim you are. Not quite as expensive a hobby that way. Like Sir Morgan said, most archers will color code their arrows/bolts to make it easier to find them in the pile. Mine have blue heads with a white and yellow band just below it so I know which are mine. All shafts are required to have the pe...

Just my opinion here. 1. If you look at the second picture you can see tape scuff marks tapering to the brim. That would tell me that the helm is doing its job and deflecting the shots downward. The stress would then be on the brim which is bent. 2. Not clear in the picture but it looks like the bre...

Just checked Caid's handbook and all it says is with rigid plate hand protection you need is 1/4" foam or resiliant padding. I guess it would depend on how large the glove fits you. You might be able to wear a street hocky glove like Icefalcon sells inside. Should take care of the padding problem. O...

You leave it off. The wreath on any official SCA heraldry belongs to the group only. It can be displayed on the groups banners but otherwise you would use what most refer to as the kingdom/group badge. On a side note there is nothing that says you must have the kingdom badge on your banner. It is pe...

UHMW for armour. I don't think I would use it. Like Sean said it can be a pain to work with. Heating, forming and watching it cool and realize the stuff has really good memory of its original form. I personally like Kydex(tm) for forming armour. You can heat it your oven, place it over a form and mo...

Not sure about the copper rivet. I guess it would depend on the shear factor of the copper it was made out of. I think I would use a brass or alumimum alloy rivet instead. Both should be harder and less likely to break. Heck, give it a try and let us know. Just be careful when using it.

I wonder what the combination of a 1" stick with a siloflex cover would be like. The only problem that I see is the web site only has it in black which is back ordered. Also I am curious as to what polymer they are using and the current standard it adheres to for it making.

It will depend on how much armour you plan on building. Just making it for yourself I would say no. If you plan on selling then maybe. Now if you have money to burn go for it. Don't forget you are also looking at some kind of air supply with dryer (a must have to avoid blowing out tips). If I had th...
