Re: Possible replacement for hay bales

Honestly, with as many beuracrats that run Pennsic, are you saying it is impossible to make a position of "fort technician" and have them get a crew of guys to maintain and assemble a fort? Pennsic has Mayors....One more useful position can't be that hard. Consider this as input from some...

Re: What's your fighting style? Brawler, sniper etc...

By nature I'm a counter puncher. In application, I will do what makes the opponent least comfortable - if I can read what that is correctly I am comfortable fighting at range (and frequently my long range is outside my opponent's range), but I don't necessarily fight at my best when I am comfortable...

Re: 12th or 13th Century Chess Piece Found in Iceland

Probably better to call it a game piece than a chess piece. Chess was not the only game around and unless they've got all the other pieces, or a recognizable chess board to go with it, there's room for doubting the designation.

But - would they really hold up under Pennsic pressures? I've never been to Lillies and can't make an informed comparison. Well, we grow'em just as big in Calontir as they do anywhere else. But, just like with any other toy, careful play and maintanence will prolong use. Some people just can't have...

Honestly, what is needed is a "lego" style set up. Sections of wall with seperate joining posts. the Calontir Lilies War Castle: The hitch is how do you keep them standing? At Lilies the castle is kept up by drilling holes in the ground and inserting the joining posts. This works pretty w...

OK, I glanced quickly at the videos and have some quick questions: 1. How old are these guys? I thought this was an "older" group. 2. Why are ALL of them in such great shape and not fat at all? 3. How do I get to or stay in that sort of shape? Very impressive as far as what I've seen so f...

I heard last night that there was an approximate count of 10,000 armoured combatants at Pennsic. That number seems....a bit high. Anyone have an accurate number? On or about Thursday Aug. 4th there were approximately 8,000 people total trolled through the gate. That would make 10K in armour on that...

Throw a flat snap, but turn you hand palm down. It still shift the angle of the blade, though not as radically as a wrap. But it is also not going to screw up your shoulder or elbow. The basic mechanics for on-side and off-side blows are the same - targeting is different. . Interesting. I think the...
