Re: SCA and Battle of Nations
since the goal, at leas in the videos, is to just knock people down it seems logical that learning how to do so and learning how to sprawl is the best bet. there are three guys i see in most of the videos who try to throw knees but do so in a terrible manner. properly thrown "flying knees"...

resist the urge to fight with two long swords. its xena type stuff. embrace an actual style used in the middle ages and swap one of those for a dagger or a short spear. ive not lost a dual weapon fight since i started using a sword and spear back in late 2001. there is some video on my site www.ebon...

Re: SCA Spear 2 inch thrusting tips
i did not realize there were a lot of head/neck injuries being blamed on 3" tips. it makes a good argument that if a large number of 2" tips replaced 3" tips and reported injuries greatly decreased that the 2" tips are safer. wouldnt the next step be to outlaw 3" tips? happy...

Re: SS Basket Hilt- price reduced!
our first run of ss hilts had work hardened tangs. a few of them broke (im sure we replaced all of them). this piece is not one of them and it, like all of the ones we have in stock, have ss 404 grade tangs. they are rock solid hilts and lucas is offering a fair deal for a used hilt.

Re: SCA Spear 2 inch thrusting tips
given that the introduction of these 2" heads solved no problem, and added nothing to our sport, there is little reason to have them. 3" heads are so easy to use and there have been no issues with them for many years. we have had a surprising amount of claimed injuries with the 2" tip...

thanks for the clarification. it was my understanding that it had been thought reserving the "badge/arms" of the chain meant that only knights could wear it. it was argued that meant an actual badge and not a physical chain, hence the addition in 1998. while it could be argued, i think, th...
