Re: Coat of plates help
its more than fine for sca sport combat. ive been fighting for over 20 years and havent worn any body armour for more than 15 years. regards logan We call that type of armor "LARPandine", and it's cool as hell for LARPs, where there's little or no force being transmitted, and hence, no nee...

Re: List requirements for West Kingdom March Crown (SCA)
perfect!! so long as these are stuck to and no exceptions are handed out. corpora does, afterall, state that participation at any sca event must include pre-17th century attire. a crown list, if nothing else, should honor such a simple demand.

Re: Attack or wait?
i do both. i play a lot of mental chess matches when i fight. if my opponent looks at all nervous i will often wait for them to throw, block the shot, relax my guard, and then smile a tiny bit and shake my head a tiny bit. if he looks "hungry" i will often open with a quick flurry and then...

this silliness ends once we demand full force face thrusts which are perfectly safe (they happen all the time with no real injury) and do away with the cancer that is the idea some folks have that touching someones face with a weapon would end a fight. gone too would be this notion that pommel strik...

yep, stabbing through the eye can prove problematic. pretty sure i mentioned that.........
20 stab wounds, one to the eye that penetrated the skull, still takes a considerable amount of force.
