i am 6" 1" and have reigned several times around the 220lb mark, my last crown i was 200lbs and the one prior to that i was 250lbs (but dropped to 187 during that reign). so, at times, i fall/fell into that catagory. my normal weight is 220.

i think you are confusing an official event and an official function/activity. fighter practices would fall under the latter. as such they need only to be published in the official newsletter or on the recognized website. no contract is required. posting it on an email list does not meet that criter...

ive fought, for years, with just duct tape "rope" and never has a problem. sure the tape will, after use, cut along the edge of the tangs but a sword rarely lasts more than a few practices and/or two tourneys.
