Re: A "cottage" at Pennsic?

I'm not sure you arguments are very well thought out. 1. Tents can be expensive. The cost of wood and a U-Haul for a Pennsic week, together would buy you a nice tent. 2. They blow over sometimes. See "good tent" Never had any of mine blow over. 3. They don't give us the space we need, some...

Nice looking for an SCA helm, but if I may make a suggestion. I assume this is a laser/ waterjet cut set of pieces. You should do some file work to the edges to bevel or round them before you assemble it. I picked up one of these and you could almost shave with some of the edges. It will also make t...

It opens on the side. I just fold up the shirt and set it in. the straps buckle to close it. (I had not cleaned the shirt at this point ) Because the bag is fairly snug to the folded shirt, it makes it very easy to carry around. The bag is 18" long, 4.5" high and about 7" wide. http:/...

Duke Bryon Tarragon won his first crown in a pig nose, just to prove you could do it. He fought and won crowns for years wearing 80 pounds of kit. The problem as I see it, is most amour made today is not fit or made correctly. Until you wear a properly fit harness there is no way to describe how wel...

You get tired of the SCA for a veriety of reasons. I *strongly* dislike the way the game is played where I live now, but even if I lived back East again where they play a much deeper game I'd mostly go to events to be with my friends. I see so much potential in the SCA to do something meaningful, b...

The Indian armour in your picture is in the Wallace collection in London. It is and 18th century piece I believe and I have only seen 2 other examples like it, both of the same period. The body is 2 separate pieces (front & back) attached at the shoulders (I used 2 buttons on each side) and tied...

say no to smurf armour Definitely. Sheet ABS is cheaper than kydex and comes in black. Kydex also gives off poisonous fumes at certain temps. YOu can also try HDPE as well.
