Halvgrimr, Whoa, buddy. I get your point, but I believe most folks would prefer to be "rich/ wealthy and exotic" than common, middle or lower class in their reenactment life. I have grown up around auto racing and as a kid saw many types of cars being raced, from the ford pinto or Datsun t...

The Vikings traded a lot, right? The beads may have been made by another group and purchased. I'm just glad they didn't find a katana. Archaeologists baffled over ‘bizarre’ Viking discovery

m Archaeologists baffled over ‘bizarre’ Viking discovery By Gordon Deegan A Team of Irish archaeologists is puzzled by the "bizarre" discovery of a 1,150-year-old Viking necklace in a cave in the Burren. Besides being the largest by far – up to 12 times longer than previous finds –...

2 notes,
1- A real coat of plates, the plates overlap.
2- The bracer is very D&D, if that is what you want, go for it. If you want authentic, not so much.

you _can_ convert one, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Unless you can get one of the old solid cast iron types. Metal bandsaws are designed with things like coolant, chip-resistant bearings, tyres that won't suffer from metal chips, etc. Wood ones _aren't_. No not really. Light duty metal band saws th...

Many of these armours, and this one seem to be as well, where made for sappers, and where very thick so to resist direct musket fire at pretty close range. The one skull I examined was nearly a quarter of an inch thick. The breast was at least three sixteenths.

One thing I have not read here is that spring also keeps lames from getting tweaked out of shape.
