So that makes " Ewan's Exterminators"

Aveloc
Duke Gunnar (my great-grandknight)
Duke Rorik Gunnarson (my grand knight)

That should be fun!

Keeping with my An-tirian theme:

Not sure if I can have him or not but if this is Fantasy
I'll take Aveloc for my third round. If that is not cool, I'll take Sir Markus for spear. (If he lets me!)

One thing I am grateful for is that my original trainers ramped up quickly as they would have any other male new fighter. I was not babied more than a practice or two. One of the problems with discussions of speed "vs" power is that the word "speed" is sometimes ambiguous in our usage. "Speed" can mean how long it takes the blow to land from the moment you begin to throw it or it can mean velocity of the stick when it hits. The former adds nothing to power but th...

Ewan, I also subscribe to the speed equals power. There are a lot of aspects that goes into a good shot. Hip turn, arm extension, blow angle all come into play. If I use the same technique to throw the blow then by the laws of physics the faster I throw the blow the harder it is going to hit. Ewan ...

Speed versus power [SCA]

OK, I've always subscribed to the school that speed equals power. The result of this is I'm always trying to hit my opponent as fast as I can. In most situations this is fine but there have been situations where I have had people tell things like "you don;t have to swing that hard" or "boy, you were...

Hey Gaston, any trouble getting your mace passed inspection?

I built one and my local guys figure it doesn't pass the 1/2" compression rule.
For that matter I just looked at the SCA weapon's regs and maces require a 2" thrusting tip. Now my mace is really cool but illegal to fight with.

Well that's a two part answer 1) the "jupon" is simply an unpadded garmet made of linen that fits very closely and act as a foundation for pointing my cuisses/couters and spaulders to. I would imagine laces will integral to the proper fit etc.... 2) the "surcoat" I am shooting for is kind of a combi...

Face thrust rolled over to a leg shot.

I have been fortunate to land that on a lot of different fighters with a wide range of skill levels.

Face thrust rolled over into an onside head shot. If you fight with your sword arm back I've got a good shot at landing that one.
