Antler projects
Some combs I did awhile back. Posted them on Halv's project site and thought I'd post them here as well. They are made out of elk antler. http://inlinethumb51.webshots.com/1906/1199724106048832893S600x600Q85.jpg This is a case comb I'm working on now: http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/292/1203184331...

I warned you about that. Should have left it on. You have 2 choices now: 1 I wear it and let it fall of. Problem is, now that you have 'degreased' it you will have to reoil it or it will start to rust. When you reoil it you will have a nice sandy/oily hauberk. 2 Find someone with an air compressor a...

Patrick, It is indeed double layered. I wanted to make sure the belt was sturdy enough to handle the weight of the scabard and sword and to keep the belt from folding over. Also helps to keep the belt from stretching over time around the tie holes. Here are the pics of the newest scabbard: http://i1...

Scabbard and belt
OK, since folks are showing off some of their works I figured I'd do the same. This scabbard was made for Rian Mulliagn, our newest knight in Gleann Abhann. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a127/camric/IMG_0548.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a127/camric/IMG_0551.jpg http://i10.photobucket.co...

LOL! Actually the 14th century scabbard I'm making is for Sir Elisar. However, I did have the pleasure of making our newest knight's (Sir Ryan) scabbard. Funny how things turn out. BTW here is a pic for those interested in seeingthe work. http://inlinethumb44.webshots.com/427/2123526300048832893S600...

Lucian, I made my coif myself of the basic pattern and added the face drape later. Mine is butted round link and I simply added a triangle flap that crosses my face just below the eyes and ties to a ring on the side of the coif. I never found anyone who made them professionally so I had to make my o...

14 cent. sword belts
Greetings all. I am making a scabbard and belt for a friend and need any documentation, pics, carvings etc that shows the rigging for a 14th/15th century harness. I have seen the line drawing design for scabbard/belt making thats been floating around here but I am not sure if that is an earlier peri...

I cover my curved wooden shields with fabric to make them last longer. Word of advice: Forget canvas. Too expensive. Use burlap. Cheeper, there are more spaces in the material for the glue to get through so it holds better. On wood, using wood glue, coat the shield, then lay the fabric over it. Let ...

I fight in a similar style low profile leg such as the one shown here. Mine are street hockey knees. They do work for SCA combat HOWEVER: You will find that the knees will crack in a short amount of time, esp if you get hit on the tops of the knees alot or drop quickly to the ground on your knees. C...

Ancient Battle Crafts
Some of you already know this but I'll post for those who do. I own 2 Getald tents from Ancient Battle Crafts. Several others in my household have bought them as well. I'm told they are put together in India by the same people who make the U.N. refugee tents. They are not bad tents and many parts of...
