I suffer (and I do mean suffer ) from lower back pain. I went to a chiropractor for a while; it helped a little. Gently exercising your back and abs will help a lot. Look up some exercises on the internet. Staying physically active outside of armour will probably help reduce injury/pain. I'd also re...

I second trailer hitch covers. Stuff with foam. Make 4 cuts in the "neck" part and tape the resulting flanges on by pairs. Enjoy the nigh-indestructability.

At TSC they are even sold in red.

A Brief History of the Vikings: The Last Pagans or the First Modern Europeans? by Jonathan Clements is by far the best basic history on the Vikings (and I've read several). It's very interestingly written and the author is not afraid to give some rather pragmatic, unromantic opinions.

Nice looking tunics. Great price. Like M. said, more pics would be fabulous. Also, you might publish the pattern you use for us authenticity nerds. I'm assuming the edges are machine sewn?

Natural (undyed/unbleached) linen tunics, I think, would sell well.

Advice needed: hornware- "Decorative use"

So, I picked up a horn bowl and cup on the cheap. The have stickers that say "decorative use" but nothing specific about them being dangerous. The have a very slick surface which may be uber-polishing, may be a coating of some type. I'd potentially like to use these for feastgear. Advice

I had some "stealth" finger gaunts. Not the Darkheart kind, but similar to what you would get from assembling the Windrose kit. They were 16g mild steel fingers with the rest being leather. I think they'd be fine for spear word, but honestly they took my S&S game down. Maybe if they ha...

Really? What makes you say that? I, personally, can only think of one or maybe two dukes who use such a shield. Heaters, center grip rounds, and kites (in that order) are the most represented in Crowns. Center grip ovals are almost non-existent. Like I think pole arms, two weapon etc have won more....

Like most everyone has said, it's more about how you use it than what you use.

That being said, I just switched from a 32" round to a 34". But the best SCA shield, IMHO, is the center grip oval.

I'm thinking it's easier, but not necessarily better, to be a hardass to someone when he or she is down. When reasons such as Andrew's come to light I think compassion and/or forgiveness is more becoming than derision.

Mainly early period stuff, but I also have some 14c stuff, including some pics from the amazing Middelaldercentret.

The folders are highly disorganized, you'll have to do some photobucket searching.

Does anyone have or can make HotW-style leather full gaunts?

I sold my House of the Wolf leather clamshells after I got some low-pro finger gaunts. I decided I like the HotW's better, but Dan is no longer producing these. I'd gladly pay well or trade something (sorry, my finger gaunts were sold long ago) for a pair (size S) or to have someone make some copies...
