Hidden female street hockey armour or lamellar for the body would be the way to go. Hidden street hockey pants give a lot of bruise minimizing coverage for the legs and buttocks, whereas hidden SCA-armour-type legs leave the butt and sometimes the hips exposed. Maybe some low-profile leather bazuban...

Here is the OE ubersite, in case you've never been there. Especially helpfull are the Old English aerobics. (Look-- I just used archaic leftover OE syntax! Boy, I'm a nerd for knowing that!)

At times it serves as the precursor to "ye." I'll look it up when I'm home. (I've had two grad courses in OE, but the prof was lazy and it was a few years ago.)

For bazubands, how about trying steel splinted bazubands that would echo the Vendel (?) find. Anyone got a link to a pic? If you were to be a "Swede" (not a lot of nationalism going on at this time) you could ostensibly have enough Eastern contact to have come across lamellar. Lamellar see...

I know what it's like to be in a financial tight spot.

I'll take the brown dog collar gorget. I get paid Tuesday, or if you get Paypal before then I can pay you with my Visa card.

Viking/Saxon Strap Dividers

I'd like to see some of your interpretations of how to use a strap divider of the circular kind with three divisions. Any dark age Germanic impression is what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance!

I'd really like to get ahold of the text source, but the one copy on Amazon is listed at $521! Since the title of the Book is "Leechdoms, Wortcunning, and Starcraft of early England," I assume that this is some sort of medicinal, not recreational, treatment. I'd be willing to bet that the ...

On finding a place to stay:

A lot of universities in London allow guests to stay in the dorms in the summer for a fairly reasonable rate. Don't know about other times of year though.

If price is really a factor, there are always hostels.
