We don't have a specific room per se. The garage mainly is used for armouring and sewing and other big projects. The Living room couch is used by my wife for jewelry and embroidering. I use the chair next to it for maille, arrow fletching and leather tooling. Next to the fireplace mantle is the musi...

One of my first SCA wars. I was loaned a glaive to use for the day and in my warm-up fights I seemed to be doing well with it. The first engagement was "Assault the Hill" - there was a short (about 10 feet in rise) ridge about 20 yards long. We took turns defending and attacking the hill. ...

2 (sort of),3 and 4 are possibilities. 1, 5 and 6, well..... :lol: well I'm not quite ready to startle the natives in period drag :lol:

Don't discount #6 - I have played for some really good male belly dancers.

What comes to mind offhand -
* If you have enough lace material - use it as a backing for a Gypsy overskirt.
* New veil
* Kaftan style over-tunic
* Cut to length for a sash
* Sleeves for a Ghawazee dress
* If you do belly dancing - a new dance veil

Hope that helps.

My Wife's armour - lots of pics.

My wife's armour is finally together and it seems to be working well. I have been spending most of my project time for the last several months getting her armour together, fitted, tuned and tweaked. At long last she can move, fight and be fairly comfortable in it. Pictures and assorted descriptions ...

I have had the chance to play with cut-and-thrust, and am even planning to make a kit for it. The bonus is that so long as your blade meets the requirements, you can use whatever persona you like (and armour). SCA heavy minimums do fit the bill, although shoulder/collarbone protection is highly reco...

As a left-handed fighter, I throw a LOT of wrap shots. It may be just me, but I can definitely tell the difference in how the blow lands if it l...

I use a strapped round shield. I am also left-handed. I put the handle dead center on the shield and strapped my arm along the diameter line. We have a new fighter in my barony that might be able to use that helm - our "small" helm is WAY too big for her.

I'll email and get measurements and see if it's viable. - should have results this evening.

The best results I have gotten have been to water soak the pre-cut leather, then bake in the oven between 180-200 degrees until dry/hardened.

After that, use wax / lacquer or acrylic as a sealant.
