You should buy my stock legs that are currently on ebay for $145. Go to the ebay link at my homepage: www.jamesriverarmoury.com I custom fit the cuisse to your size. Much better quality than Kingslance, Made in US by me. Eric What would you charge to make a set that looks like what he bought?

I don't think this is the second helmet I referred to in Calvert's Spanish A&A, but the border band does have what I can only refer to as 'Celtic' knotwork, it even has dots in the strips like you would find in illuminated examples. m The large rondel, and the other larger areas I would refer to as...

Whoooow, I'm gonna have to put my nose in some books. "Merovingian"? Mead, It seems to me that you've picked a "thing" or fashion that you like, and you're working to put it in a place and time. Might I suggest, that you may find it easier to go the other way. Pick a country, and a time frame, and ...

All depends on what you want Meaddrinker. Butted maille is not authentic, but making it yourself is most cost effective. You can buy even a flat maille shirt for $300 today but to get closer to real maille of the late middle ages you will spend closer to $850. Of coarse you can order a perfect hand...

My house is not quiet, I am not loud; But for us God fashioned our fate together.
I am the swifter, at times the stronger, My house more enduring, longer to last.
A times I rest; my dwelling still runs; Within it I lodge as long as I live.
Should we two be severed, my death is sure.

My point is that If I am making a suit of 14th century armour the applied brass borders should not be etched with celtic kotwork (two intertwined lines of wigglework yes, but celtic knotwork no.) Properly speaking, you shouldn't be etching armor until c1480 (or a little later, since that is about t...
