back to the original question im a metal weapons fighter and we have a genralised rule on armour (esp helmets) that it has to be at least 16g steel or 18g stainless to past, i dont know about the sca standards, but this piece wouldnt live up to our rule of thumb. mat I was not planning on fighting ...

I'd call it a representation of the pattern, this looks to me like a miniature, so 54mm scale?? It isn't a representation of the pattern. The iconographical evidence shows no gaps between the plates. The whole point of scale armour is to overlap the plates. Robinson's suggestion does not do this. L...

Tim this is prolly the coolest Mongol armour I have seen, when I saw it in the other thread I saved it with all the other armour I'd kill to have. I think it rates right up there with the mountain pattern lamallar (sp?). I know if I were an armourer I'd have both sets. I still want to try the chines...

Yes I was wondering what people thought about the quality of his armour. It looks nice to me but I can't tell much about pics. Also when I saw the pic he took from Kings lance (chain maille) it kind of turned me off. I don't think much of Kings lance.
