This is one of my Grandfathers old wooden legs, he passed on back in 72. I found this and another in his attic. You think these could be used to form leather in anyway?

I don't know much about the right oak to be used but if any of you work with red oak, try staining with a pickle wood. It is beautiful. I think the wearer will look pretty silly walking around with a couple of vice-grips sticking out of their helm. They are not even a Japanese brand of vice grips.
