Hey Uilleag, what do you think about this?

This is one of my Grandfathers old wooden legs, he passed on back in 72. I found this and another in his attic. You think these could be used to form leather in anyway?

I'm gonna weld those to halves together first. But after that, I'l...

I don't know much about the right oak to be used but if any of you work with red oak, try staining with a pickle wood. It is beautiful. If you want beautiful, make a sealed box bigger than your oak piece and put a dish of ammonia in with it and wait a day or two. That's beautiful . Alternatively yo...

I think the wearer will look pretty silly walking around with a couple of vice-grips sticking out of their helm. They are not even a Japanese brand of vice grips. Sasha I kinda like the vise grip look... but shouldn't they be turned up?...SNICKER,SNICKER [img]http://www.photodump.com/direct/MeadDri...

There are lots of 'ritualistic' images of folks wearing such helmets but again, almost all of them are PreViking Age. There is actually one Viking Age representation come to think of it, there is a horned image on the Oseberg Tapestry, which dated to 830ish. Halv So are these images of viking era ?
