Do you think it would afford more/less protection than a mail hauberk? From what I have been reading about the mountain pattern , it might be just as good. Not quite sure yet , I want to find more on it and that is proving a little difficult You mean Mountain Scale? Many have tried but none I know ...

I think those who like to put down the Mongol and people who like them and want to portray them should take a closer look at the art in their armor and read a little more about their history. These were a very fascinating people. Animal, great pics... Thanks for sharing.

Hey, bazubands work for rattan fighting. I dont think I'd want leather ones for facing real steel but for rattan fighting the leather ones work just fine. Another off thing to notice: look how the rerebrace overlaps the couter. I'd write this off as an artistic error, but it appears in many other depictions of armour of this date as well.


I was wondering about that, it looked to me as it could catch at the wrong moment and get a guy killed :D .

I'm curious about how I would keep the dye from seeping away from the exact area that the block covers when I would lay it down on the fabric, which would certainly soak some up, it seems.
