You know, that paint is really tough to get off. I have had some success with "strip-eze" from wal mart on a really hot summer day. This is a really nice helm, I don't really know what it is about it but it reminds me of something by Frank Frazetta. The progress pics really lets me see more of the detail. Sure would like to see this polished.

Well the people at http://www.coscosci.com/patinas/index.htm just told me that it is virtually impossible to get aluminum to take a patina.

Paint or anodization are the only processes that I know of. If you need to anodize I can provide you instructions, but something that size already installed is pretty much out of the question. Turn aluminum different colors? Is there something that can be put on it to make it turn a bluegreen color. We just put up a large aluminum yard light post and want to put some type of patina on it. Any ideas?

I really dont like the look of the Lorica in steel but you always seem to impress me with your leather Armour. I have to say I really like the look of this leather Lorica. Very nice.
