In the mean time. Does the prospective wearer already have his/her cuirass built? A pauldron really should be fitted to the person while wearing the cuirass. I saw that a while ago and it changed my life! :lol: Or at least my fight. That is why my starting stance has the sword arm and shoulder muscles pulled back into a place that I can throw a killing blow without winding back to throw it. The blow comes out faster without presaged movement to key of off.

If I fished in the bin I do have patterns for the 2 pair of Italian pauldrons I built. And I have some 16th pauldrons that are built in a similar fashion to the late 15th c. German ones. Rattan tends to damage steel armour better than a steel weapon does due to the larger cross section at impact. Depends on the weapon. Steel mass weapons like many were using in BOTN can be much more damaging to armor. A standard single handed "Practical" broadsword, not so much, especially at pulle...

While you can put a wire-wheel of the correct arbor size on that tool (always wear face protection, flying wires and whatnot) I think you will find it is underpowered and the shafts are short preventing access to some places.
