While positioning yourself in a way that makes your opponents blows land light is one way to do it. Perhaps a better way might to to position yourself in a place that makes throwing a blow impossible. Standing close to their sword elbow is one of those places. If they can't they cannot throw the blo...

One of the White Scarves here in Atlantia uses one. I believe his bevor is an integral part of the rest of the helm. It pivots with the faceplate to admit the head. It locks on the side with a spring pin of buckle.

Thanks people! Johann, I have a short bar placed at the top of the grills so that the actual eye slot is ideally situated. With all of these helms i was able to do a test fit to see where their eyes sat. In every case, even 1" spacing would have put a bar directly in the center of their vision. The...

Nice clean work. I have a question about the bar grill though. Why the short spaced horizontal bar at the top? Does this have some performance value? It would be more visually pleasing (to me, at least) to have all the horizontal bars spaced the same. Even if it means adding an extra bar and reducin...

Not surprising! Mirror polishing requires a great deal of labor in final planishing as well as the actual polishing.
