erm, that aside, dredging my misspent years of playing morrowind, are'nt the ordinator masks etc made from gilded insect carapaces? shellac and the likes. just wondering is metal the right material for it, really... Good point. Could use sculptural clay and cast the final product as a class project

Really anything with a high lanolin content will do. Hide Rejevenator from Tandy is what I usually use.

WD dries leather out in the long run.

Re: Lead rivetting block.

Where do I get a block of lead to rivet on? You know, so the domed heads don't get flattened. I use a rail road spike with a round hole that matches the rivet. Chuck it in a vise and GTG. You can buy bulk lead from reloading supply places like Midway if you want to go that way. Or go to a tire shop...

Re: Forward Angular Movement (A Heresy)

What I'm seeing is an amazing consistency between all of the Dukes I am watching - despite disparity in stance, in foot-edness, in shield size/shape, they all show a remarkable tendency to warily stalk into range, to remove themselves if they feel even momentary disadvantage, to snipe in single sho...

Looks like a good start. I would agree with EK in that that pattern looks like the cuff and hand protection could be hard riveted and still have enough cuff travel to protect without the large opening on the inside of the wrist seen in pic 3. You would be surprised what can get tangled up in there. ...

Certainly for the 10' rule. Still more to do though. Armoured is about 30 years late for the SCA (today) with the lobster pot. It will eventually be replaced with a Burgonet.
