Re: Mandrake Tips on Fiberglass Spears Illegal in Aethelmear

Wouldn't a 1" washer in the tip of these prevent them from penetrating? Doesn't have to be a steel one either. Probably not. I'll bet the center of the forward surface is not folding in half at the centerline. I'd imagine what is happening is that the forward surface strikes the grill and one side ...

There have been a number of issues with the mandrake tips on fiberglass spears. the foam compressing and wearing out very quickly make it difficult to calibrate the fall off rate is just to high to maintain consistent force levels. There are other options for 2" fiberglass spears that preform bette...

I am still holding out hope that someone will be willing to trade their 6mm voiders for my 9mm ones. The time may come when I am willing to purchase but I'm in no hurry.

Thanks for the bump!

There are groups that Pennsic that intentionally steal things. It sucks, but its true. I've never had a weapon disappear from the middle of a damn battle before, that was a new one. Neat pics of that garniture! I like the way they overlaid the parts where they go. This is an unusual elbow configuration. I guess with the compression articulation you don't need much in the way of corslet style protection of the inner part of the elbow. https://picasaweb.google.com/107429641124893...

Zen Warrior (and other places such as revival.us) sell thickly padded gloves that can be used for C&T hand protection. Don't forget that you need back of the head protection with a conventional mask to pass muster for C&T. That said they don't hold up well under prolonged use. Also be sure to get a blade that is C&T capable. It is also smart to have a fairly complex or well covered guard to prevent hand injuries. Th...
