I wear an apron, which is just simple chrome tan. bracers -- i don't see the point beyond a strange attempt at style. I haven't seen anyone else do this. Gloves only go so high. Hot raise something and have it touch the tender part of your inner forearm while hot. I've done it and it hurts!...

I've got one very similar. Like Mac said the shape is not always useful. I too, am reluctant to cut it down. The only time I have used the full length of the flat was turning the edges of my gorget collar rolls. It did that quite well with the flat work piece clamped to it and heat applied. The curv...

I mount my torch on a stand, move the piece up to the flame to heat, then back to an anvil/stake/whatever to shape it. It saves me the cooling time of putting down the torch. I'm thinking a shade 5 screen to protect my eyes from the flame would help a lot, without reducing vision during the shaping...

You are planning on making a cast positive from the mold of your body right? This is Mac assumption. Belt goes on you. Plaster bandages (or other material) wrap around you over the belt. This will make the mold Then you use the mold to cast a positive of yourself. Obviously I have left out the deta...

I think the only reasonable way to do that would be to make a visor the "normal" way, THEN perforate it. A big PITA. Perf plate simply won't shape that way without major distortion of the pattern/hole size and shape. You might try a simpler profile, somewhat similar to this great bascinet in the MM...
