Oops. I meant the strip that you meantioned being at waist height. I think I wanna do something similar to my lamellar. I'll even put your name on the inside of it with a little TM. Adam Hardly my TM. It's wide enough to lace through the lamellar above it, and bellow it, and end up being the width ...

Shields

Curious...

Any evidence of norse shields that weren't round? I've read 'shields' 'center boss shields' and 'center boss round shields' a lot but might have missed anything to do with shields that weren't round.

That's really almost spooky... I asked my Lady what kind of animal she thought I am since I was going to put one on a belt... she quickly said "A lion!"

I did one up myself (modified wolf), but never thought I'd see another one soon.

Literally a week ago I did it. heh

It is a rare find to come across someone who is an incredible artist at any level, but also a smart business man. I know there are a lot of unhappy people out there, I'd be one as well I'm sure. Well... I contacted Count Morgan about just purchasing the fingers off of him and then doing the rest myself.

He quoted me $350 for fingers and thumbs, stapled or not, heat treated spring.

Glad you like yours, I can't say I was as fortunate. Maybe I have weird hands, but I just couldn't get them to fit right and ended up selling them. Trying to find finger gauntlets has been a very frustrating experience. As a side note, Greenshields are a different version than I've seen previously....

Or a mild steel rivetted chain haubergeon I might include in a trade.

If you mean it's on every post I make, that's a good idea. But having the price list show up in the forum as a price list would probably get more attention than my signature.

I guess my wording was a bit off. Not necessarily a return to the shoulder, but a return to prepare for another strike. hip before elbow before hand to where you want it, then fire. Sword Returns - Rattan

I assume when returning your blade to a cocked position after throwing a shot, that you do it in the same order as when you throw a shot, but backwards. You've fired your shot, you pull your hip back, the elbow follows, then the hand pops back. My returns have always sucked, or at least been all arm...

Shield Conventions - An Tir

I have a couple of questions concerning shields in An Tir. Though the ABCs mention them as conventions, and not rules, they are used enough that most of us adhere to them naturally. 1. I am wondering if the chin to crotch part is with a lifted or unlifted chin. 2. And the above may be a moot point f...

If it's the same country wide, Tandy has a sale on there "better" skirting right now.

$160CND for a side, almost all usable, very even thickness. Much better than their $100 stuff, and I think it usually runs $220 or so.

Needs a sole still really, I may just do a leather one, may go to a shoe place and look around, might do crepe.

It has a leather "piece" there currently, I wouldn't count it as the sole yet though.

I'd disagree about the ability of wax to harden leather. And since we're starting to talk about wax vs. water i'll chime in. I've tried baking leather and found the process was more finicky than waxing, and offered armor that was less hard. Waxxing leather does a few things. 1. It brings the temp up...
