White Belts

I may have to buy a side of white belt weight leather.

If that's the case, I'll have a limited number of custom belt strip sizes/shapes available.

Any interest? That'll help me decide if I need to buy that belt weight leather for this project.

It's not cheap. :(

Re: An Tir Spring Crown Winner

As I understand it, though I was not present. Jarl Cedric Rolfsson defeated Duke Davin Steingrimsson in the finals. That confirms what I had heard then. Thanks for posting the information. I am assuming you were there? Any other names of the final pairings? How was the final? Do tell. Take care and...

That is the most ridiculous price for a set of hidden legs I've ever seen in my life. Someone had to say it... no wonder he probably has a queue from hell. *ponders* Does anyone know his current turn around time? I have some newbies I may point this direction. Would he be willing to just sell the pa...

WTB: Rivetted Chainmail Assembly Tools

As silly as it sounds since I think the tools are pretty simple, I want to buy a set of tools to do rivetted chain. I imagine all this is... is a set of linesman pliers with divets. I tried to do that myself, and found utter failure in the process. If someone can just make my lazy ass the tools so I...

Re: Paracord

I'm finally getting new body armor this weekend in the form of lamellar. I know most people use paracord to lace it, and I've got the website saved for the online vendor. However, in my never ending frugalness, I found an Army surplus store that sells it in 50' packs for about $5.50. I noticed on t...

Re: It may be better to say "camail"

You bought a coif and not a tube-neck camail?! Hope you got it at a substantial savings. If you're outfitting a bascinet, what you do depends entirely on the configuration of your camail strap and/or vervelle line, which determines that configuration. Vervelle lines and their camail straps appear i...

So I have a coif coming that I'm going to decapitate and make into a short aventail. Probably just ... a leather strip with the rings stitched / pinched inside it then rivet it arou...

Satin Sheen will work, it's my prefered seal since it doesn't look all plastic gloss-like. It goes on after the dye, and you'll probably need more coats on the back than on the front. I just use neatsfoot oil (cow oil), there's debates over what's the "best", I've never had a problem with ...

If you're going to put a finish on the back (I avoid it if I can)

I'd oil it lightly first and let it set in, just because it'll be hard to oil it after that since the front as well as the back will be sealed.

Also let me note that I understand that role-playing as a term doesn't necessarily mean table top dice throwing games.

But in the context of role-playing attached to LARPing, it does. This isn't someone dressing up as a police officer in their bedroom that we're discussing.

I think there's a lot of people that don't understand what role-playing is. And let's get this straight, I'm a big role-player, I never got into LARP, tried it a couple times, just wasn't for me. Role-playing is pretty much acting, and I have seen it at SCA events, but in such incredible small quant...

I dunno, there needs to be something more to it for it to be a LARP. I think at the center of it you need a storyteller and stats, and for the players to take on a bit of acting, taking on a role. . Just because people run around with boffers, does not a LARP it make. It's like it's own crazy sport....

Just a quick note. A LARP can involve no combat, no fantasy, no history, and could be by its definition be just some people taking on various roles of the modern day. As boring as the game would be, you could easily do a LARP for a.... McDonalds... you could all take on the roles of various employee...
