Footwear
Just a quick question regarding period footwear. I want to make myself a pair of viking style shoes or low boots, I have almost completed my first set of proper turnshoes, and realized how long it took to do them, coupled with how destroyed they're going to get. I have a sewing machine, and have a c...

Pell Work
May seem like a silly question, but the bottom line is I really don't do pell work. That's not to say that I haven't done some, I have, but I do it so infrequently that I assume it's not doing me much good. I want to change that, but can be quite chaotic and scramble brained. I need structure, and s...

WTT For: Aventail
I'm still looking for a 9mmID flat ring rivetted aventail / camail.
I don't think it needs to be that big, it's just to mount under the occulars on my helm and around the back.
Leatherwork anyone?

i wer greaves wit a floating cop. works just fine. in fact its the most comfortable set up ive had yet. What's the floating cop mounted to? Is it just held in place by the knee strap? Does the greave help support it a bit? Any pants or leg wraps? edit: well.. nothing I assume, but maybe they're lac...

Floating Knees - Any Experience?
Adjusting my shovel greaves since I got some legwraps/wicklebangers etc. Ripped the shin off and now I have a single plastic knee, one strap around the back of the knee, then a small "upper" part with a strap (very small, it's an old catchers shin I added a plastic knee to) So I've ripped ...

Re: ankle length
Interesting. This is one of those areas where text is just inadequate for the purpose. I'm fairly confident I know what you mean by "loopy outside wraps" and "tight inside ones" but I've no confidence in interpreting what you mean by "return" wrap or why you label it &...

Re: Anyone know the status on Midrealm Leather?
Anyone know what's going on with Draven? I ordered a set of gauntlets from her last November after seeing several glowing reviews on here. We swapped emails for about a couple of weeks and then nothing. Since then, the website has gone down, I received an update reply from her in January, said she ...

Re: looks great! love it!

Unless you wanna end up with bodies hacked to pieces you're not gonna have a combat system that is true to real life combat. Can we agree on this? This being said, some systems come closer than others. Yours isnt very close at all and that's what I dont like about it. Pretty much the same boat here...

How big is your Shield?
On the same topic as how long is your sword, I'm curious about how big your shield is. I once again understand there will be a lot of variations, but your height, and any other measurements or thoughts you think are prudent to why your shield is as it is are always very handy. Shield Size: 28" ...

Re: ankle length
My typical advice is a sword no longer than to the point of your ankle bone when you are holding it and standing straight. If you are losing your wraps when using a short sword, you have a technique problem with your wrap. One explanation I imagine is related to throwing loopy outside wraps rather ...

Thanks Bob.I'll look at that video. Russ, I value your insight as someone who knows fighting. Don't hesitate to comment. Magnus, You are a fun fight.
