We used a Chen gen 2 and gen 3 yesterday for full armoured practice - the swords held up well. I like the Gen 3 because it has a solid pommel. I've worn a pair. They are 16 g. They would work as demis for SCA, but the fingers certainly do not rest on a haft. I sold this saddle to Jenn and Bob. Very nice saddle, was a bit on the "small" side for Apollo - the horse I was jousting on at the time.
