Later period tilt armour often had a "wrapper" that covered the neck and part of the helm http://www.armourarchive.org/armour_dukes_burgundy/b10.jpg A lot of jousters today, myself included, use a grande gard which is basically a bevor that is bolted onto our breastplate to prevent the lan...

The ones of the cover are from Revival Clothing (Christian is a partner in their business, I believe).

There are some period patterns floating around (not Simplicity) I think that you might find them on the Smoke and Fire website.

I have used a couple of Albion "bastard" (Oakshotte type Type XIIIa) swords from horseback, the Duke and Steward. The Duke is a sweet cutter from horseback, but you had better be plenty strong if you are going to be engaged in a prolonged "battle" as the balance sits well for two...

I have the same question as Trystan. Are these made for SCA jousting or Heavy Armour Jousting? What are they made of? What is the thickness? I have used quite a few different types of ecranche shields over the years and have had far too many break apart during their first joust (some, on the first p...

I emailed the seller asking who excavated the pieces and where - he answered back the he bought them from a Polish dealer in Stuttgart earlier this year and the man claimed that he was the one the excavated them.

The pieces, for the most part, look way too pristine to be originals, in my opinion.

I have had two of Beathan's helms and a number of other armour pieces that I use for full impact jousting. I have had nothing but excellent service, communication, and the armour pieces themselves ALWAYS exceeded my expectations.

I can give Beathan's work a glowing recommendation.
